After a few throws that land in different places, you really should be able to find your range and, at the very least, get close to the hole with a majority of your tosses. When you become comfortable with your choice of tossing techniques, stick with it so that it gets to be 2nd nature. You can change it a little to fit your form, and that is what I have done.
